HUNTINGDON RACECOURSE (OWNERS EXPERIENCE)
We were invited to spend the day at Huntingdon Racecourse and live through their award winning owners experience.
Huntingdon Racecourse offers a truly memorable and immersive experience for owners, set in a picturesque and well-maintained venue with top-tier facilities. Known for its warm hospitality and exceptional service, the racecourse combines thrilling National Hunt racing with refined dining, panoramic track views, and exclusive access that makes every visit feel special. From the moment you arrive, it’s clear that Huntingdon prioritises both comfort and class, making it a standout destination for racing enthusiasts.
On arrival at the racecourse, we were ushered through a private entrance and warmly welcomed with our owners’ badges, a racecard, and a complimentary drink of choice—including champagne, orange juice, or a refreshing Bucks Fizz.
We were then shown to the private Owners and Trainers Suite, which offered a welcoming and friendly atmosphere from the outset. The staff were truly outstanding throughout the day, elevating our experience with their impeccable service skills and genuine attentiveness.
The dining options were refined and thoughtfully presented. We had the choice of tender chicken breast or rich beef bourguignon, both accompanied by perfectly seasoned potatoes and freshly prepared vegetables. For vegetarians, a creamy macaroni cheese dish was offered, which looked equally indulgent. Dessert included a decadent chocolate brownie cheesecake and a zesty lemon torte—naturally, we had to sample both, and they were absolutely delightful, bursting with flavour.
As for the Guinness, priced at £7 a pint, we found it very reasonable—especially as it was served in a proper glass rather than the standard plastic cups often used trackside. The traditional two-pour method was followed meticulously by staff, allowing time for the pint to settle. Each glass was served at the ideal temperature, with a smooth, creamy head and crisp, refreshing taste.
The track view from the Owners and Trainers Suite was simply spectacular. The layout offers an almost uninterrupted view of the entire racecourse, with a private standing area located near the winning post and final hurdle. From inside the suite, we could also watch the horses being led down to the start while enjoying a perfectly poured pint—truly a standout feature of the day.
One of the most magical parts of the experience was access to the parade ring. As owners, we were able to enter the ring to watch our horse before its race, observing it being tacked up and speaking with both the trainer and jockey. This unique level of access provided intimate insight into the preparation and strategy behind the scenes, and after the race, we were able to reconnect with the jockey and trainer to review how it played out. It was a privilege to be so close to the action.
To top it all off, if you were lucky enough to have a winner this meant a celebratory visit to the Winning Connections Bar, where you toasted champagne and rewatched the race with your fellow connections—an unforgettable moment that would perfectly finish any raceday as an owner.

From the superb hospitality and gourmet food to the incredible race views and personal touches, it was an experience we will cherish.
